Networking activities

Access to data and services for the marine science community are developed by four Networking activities:

Improving Transnational Access provision (NA1)

Networking Activity 1 (NA1) implements transparent provision of high-quality access services through a single access point, offering complementary access between research institutes and sharing of best practices among the consortium to improve Transnational Access (TA) provision, with impacts in all areas and on all types of users.

Lead Partner: Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn (SZN)
Work package leader: Wiebe Kooistra

Kick-off meeting presentation: Improving TA provision (WP3 – NA1)

Improving Virtual Access provision (NA2)

Networking Activity 2 (NA2) works into establishing a data management and interoperability plan for e-infrastructures and for developing Virtual Access (VA), data analysis and technology transfer infrastructure of ASSEMBLE Plus. It interacts with NA1 and NA3, with potential impact on users from all sectors (academia, industry and policy).

Lead Partner: Vlaams Instituut voor de Zee (VLIZ)
Work package leader: Katrina Exter (email)

Kick-off meeting presentation: Improving virtual access (WP4 – NA2), Klaas Deneudt, Vlaams Instituut voor de Zee (VLIZ)

Engaging with user communities (NA3)

Networking Activity 3 (NA3) provides training and standards for extracting research outputs to populate the Knowledge Transfer Platform (coming soon!) and engage with user communities to promote the research institutes through training and to obtain feedback to improve its services. Its results will impact on users from all sectors (academia, industry and policy).

Lead Partner: Centro de Ciências do Mar (CCMAR)
Work package leader: Adelino Canario

Kick-off meeting presentation: Engaging with user communities (WP5 – NA3)

Long-term sustainability (NA4)

Networking Activity 4 (NA4) will provide a business plan for an ecosystem of mature marine biological stations and a framework for funding to secure the network's long-term sustainability.

Lead Partner: University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU)
Work package leader: Ibon Cancio (email)

Kick-off meeting presentation: Long-term sustainability (WP6 – NA4)
